Bobster Eyewear specializes in the design of performance eyewear suitable for active and extreme activities. Launching its first eyewear line in 1996, Bobster has become a well-known trade name amongst its target market and is now an internationally recognized brand. Bobster Eyewear offers eyewear easily customizable to suit constantly changing environment and user requirements.
Bobster Eyewear frames that feature Grilamid TR90 construction offer increased durability and greater flexibility. Grilamid is a nylon compound, which is shock resistant, non-allergenic and lightweight. These frames are flexible and allow the frame to flex to the head and face to provide a more comfortable fit.
Bobster Eyewear with Foam
Many styles of Bobster Eyewear come with foam, either open cell or closed cell. Adding foam reduces wind flow, prevents debris from getting into eyes and reduces vibration.
- Open cell foam tends to be lighter, softer and more sweat absorbent than closed cell foam. Open cell foam also has a tendency to provide a better seal or fit because it is softer and conforms to the contours of the face.
- Closed cell foam has low water absorption, while being weather and chemical resistant. It also provides some ventilation to reduce fogging and has a tendency to be more durable than open cell foam.
Bobster Polycarbonate Lenses
Bobster Eyewear models (unless noted otherwise) feature durable, lightweight polycarbonate lenses which provide startling optical clarity and protection against high-mass and high-velocity impact. Polycarbonate lenses are the preferred lenses for most performance eyewear and are ideal for those who ride motorcycles or participate in water sports, winter sports, hunting, etc. Polycarbonate lenses are shatter-resistant and will NOT splinter if hit by fast-moving objects, such as debris or small stones. All Bobster lenses provide 100% UVA & UVB protection and meet ANSI Z80.3 optical standards for UV protection and optical quality.
Bobster Polarized Lenses
While ordinary tinted lenses reduce brightness, only polarized lenses eliminate glare. Polarization is achieved by placing a thin sheet of polarized film between two layers of material. Polarized lenses work well for boaters, fishermen, skiers, golfers, bikers, and joggers, who require a clearer view and elimination of glare. These sunglasses, when used for driving, can reduce the glare that comes off the car or the surface of a road. Polarized sunglasses can also be used indoors by light-sensitive people.
Bobster Bezel Lenses
Specific styles of Bobster Eyewear are made to hold and easily interchange bezel lenses. Lenses are fit into a "rim" which clips in and out of the eyewear frame making it quick and easy to interchange between day and night. This is also a great way to have versatility when having a prescription done in multiple shades of lenses.
What is Base Curve?
Base Curve is the front curve of any lens. The higher the base curve (8-12 base) the more curved the lenses are thus making the frame wrap around closer to the sides of the head. High base curved lenses are between 8 and 12 base.
Bobster Photochromic Lenses
Bobster Photochromic lenses are available in a variety of eyewear styles and are precision designed to automatically adjust to the amount of ultraviolet light (UV) that reaches the lens. The advantage of a Photochromic lens is that you can wear your eyewear from morning into evening and not have to carry multiple sets of eyewear with you or change your lenses throughout the day. Bobster offers a wide range of eyewear with photochromic lenses with varying transmission rates. Transmission rate is the amount of visible light penetrating the lens and reaching the eyes. The higher the transmission (V.L.T.) rate the lighter the lens color. Clear lenses have a transmission rate between 80%-100% and typical smoked lenses have a transmission rate between 8-18%.
*Note: Photochromic lenses do NOT get as dark as traditional smoked grey lenses.
All Bobster lenses provide 100% UVA & UVB protection and meet ANSI Z80.3 optical standards.

Proper fit and personalized style are two main objectives when selecting eyewear. Face size and shape determine what styles will fit comfortably while balancing your features. To make the best selection, a thorough understanding of different types of faces will enhance ones' ability to make these decisions. While the physical aspect of trying different eyewear on is the ideal way to find the best fit, this is a general guide to help when looking for a pair that is the right size for you. Please keep in mind that these are estimated measurements from temple to temple and actual product measurements in comparison to face size may vary slightly.
OVAL FACES: This face shape is considered to be ideal because the proportions are balanced. It is the most versatile shape as most eyewear is flattering on this face. To keep the oval's natural balance, try frames that are as wide as (or wider than) the broadest part of the face. Try: Square shaped frames with rounded edges or eyewear with high temples.
ROUND FACES: A round face is curved with both the length and width equally proportionate. For an elongated, thinner appearance, try angular narrow frames to lengthen the face. Deeper colors such as black or tortoise also minimize fullness.Try: Wide frames with angular or rectangular styles that pull attention upwards.
DIAMOND FACES: Diamond-shaped faces are narrow at the eye and jaw lines with cheekbones that are often high and dramatic. To highlight the eyes and bring out the cheekbones, try frames with distinctive brow line or rounded styles.Try: Oval shapes or rimless eyewear that softens the contours of the face.
SQUARE FACES: A square face has a strong jaw line and broad forehead with the width and length proportional to each other. Reduce the angles and compliment this shape with frames that are slightly curved around the edges.Try: Classic oval or cat-eye style frames.
OBLONG FACES: An oblong face is longer than it is wide with an extended cheek line. To make the face appear shorter and more balanced, aim for styles that have vertical depth and that do not extend past the widest part of the face. Try to minimize the length of the face by finding a glass that covers as much of the center of the face as possible.Try: Round or square frames with decorative temples for a wider appearance.
TRIANGLE FACES: This shape is defined by a broad forehead and narrow mouth and chin. Frames with a thin rim and vertical lines will help balance the bottom part of the face. Avoid large frames, bold colors and square shapes.Try: Cat-eye, angular or rimless frame styles with very light colors work well with this shape.
