The U.S. Military Special Forces and Law Enforcement agencies needed the ultimate, shatterproof eye gear. And so, 25 years ago, Wiley X was born.
Wiley X began by creating shatterproof, selenite, polycarbonate lenses. In fact, some models have been tested to withstand a 12-gauge shotgun blast from 10 yards away. Factor in sleek design and proprietary technology, and their list of admirers has reached international acclaim. Nationally, Wiley X currently is a standard issue item with the FBI, DEA, Army Rangers, Navy SEAL Teams and Military Special Forces.
In 1987, Wiley X took our protective eyewear to civilians. Their quality, shatterproof styles lend themselves beautifully to activities where eye protection is essential. Wiley X frames and accessories are now integral to not only the nation's elite, but also those who hunt, fish and ride motorcycles. And with their smart, modular design, their glasses shift seamlessly into your daily lifestyle.
Extreme Conditions require Extreme Eyewear! Wiley X Military Eyewear is currently a standard issue item with the FBI, DEA, Army Rangers, Navy SEAL Teams and Military Special Forces.
Wiley X Top Down Ventilation
Stay cool in the heat of battle. Wiley X Top Down Ventilation helps keep your eyes cool and lenses fog-free. Air vents in the top of the frame direct air flow downward and out through vents in the bottom. In the stifling heat and intensity of a firefight, the last thing you need are foggy lenses!
Fending off the blazing sun, flying shrapnel, wind-driven sand and other air-borne debris is the duty of Wiley X Lenses. Our industry leading standards are achieved through precision manufacturing and state-of-the-art quality control. We start with our shatterproof Selenite™ lenses which are formulated and die-cut from the exact center point of each lens blank to eliminate distortion. Result: precise optical clarity. We then add the exact amount of dyes needed to eliminate eye fatigue and strain. All Wiley X lenses block 100% of the suns harmful UVA and UVB rays (up to 400 nanometers). Because in the end, protecting eyesight is job one!
Wiley X Polarized Lenses
Wiley X Filter 8 Polarized Film eliminates glare, allowing the user to see clearly with more detail and definition. This proprietary film adds 99.9% polarization to 100% ultra violet protection for unequaled clarity and contrast. In conjunction with their other high tech coatings, allows fantastic amount of light to reach the eyes' pupils. Helps achieve perfect visual acuity.
Wiley X LA Light Adjusting Lenses
In the face of danger, who has time for lens changing? LA Lenses change for you. They literally adjust to the light conditions so you don't have to. In bright conditions, they're dark. As the sky darkens, the lenses lighten. Optical clarity remains perfect no matter what kind of light the day brings. And, since Wiley X uses shatterproof polycarbonate, the lenses are far safer than old Photochromics (glass that could shatter on impact). All in all, these lenses are state-of-the-visual arts.
